Our Teachers, Our Hero

Our Teachers, Our Hero

Education opens up new windows and enables us to grow beyond our limitations. As Swami Vivekananda mentioned — “Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man.” The credit of such manifestation goes to our teachers who are instrumental in changing the paradigms of our life. Teachers enable us to become strong humans by bestowing the power of knowledge not only through text books but also through life lessons. Teachers help us in understanding our value, shaping our worth and identity. We know of numerous incitements where teachers stepped out of their professional limitation and continued imparting knowledge in whatever way possible.

The onset of COVID threw up varied challenges for the education sector, where students had to adapt to continue learning, unexpectedly and almost overnight. There were many students who were unable to continue with their education, and for the others, the hurdles to attend classes online and give their examinations seemed impossible to cross initially.

Teachers have once again stood up as one with one dedicated mission — education must not stop at any cost. During this phase of global crisis, teachers have again proved through their leadership and innovation of new techniques and learning environments, ensuring that students learn to adapt to them with time. Globally, teachers remain resilient and patient with such abrupt changes, helping students to overcome the challenges with continuous engagement and motivation.

Teachers’ Day in India is celebrated on September 5 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan — the first Vice- President and second President of independent India, renowned scholar and a recipient of Bharat Ratna. As an educationist, he aimed to impart education to all, to empower students and enlighten their minds with knowledge and wisdom.

With the current shift in online teaching-learning, the work teachers are doing has become twice difficult, and crucial at the same time. This Teachers’ Day, let us not hold back on sharing our gratitude to all our teachers — from school, to college, to university, and to the many classrooms’ life creates for us. Nelson Mandela once said that “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, and nothing could be truer. Our teachers truly teach us to ‘celebrate our worth’. It is time to celebrate them.

Praxis Business School wishes our dear teachers and everyone a Happy Teachers’ Day!
