It’s our birthday on 30 July!

Praxis Business School celebrates the 15th Foundation Day on 30 July 2021 online this year amidst the global challenges of Covid-19.

PBS started its journey on 30 July 2007 with a vision to create industry-ready global leaders through the consistent process of learning, evolving, development, and knowledge sharing.  Mr Kamlesh Sajnani, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Praxis Business School, kicked off the Foundation Day celebration with a welcome speech. He addressed the 200 plus online audience comprising students, faculty, and other stakeholders of Praxis with a special mention to the strong, well-built value system that holds everyone together during these trying times. The ceremony continued with Sahin Banerjee, the General Secretary of the student body, addressing the audience and welcoming all to the online event. Dr. Prithwis Mukerjee, Director, Praxis Business School,  addressed the audience on the core values of the education system that Praxis follows even during times of crisis.

In his speech, Prof. Charanpreet Singh announced the social causes initiated by PBS, a tradition we support and upload since our inception. This year, we observed our customary tree-plantation ceremony to contribute to nature on Foundation Day with few founder members present in Kolkata campus, maintaining Covid-19 protocols. Like last year, the Praxis family made a humble attempt to support the people of the Sundarbans, reeling under the double impact of the Covid-19 lockdown and the super cyclone Yash. This social initiative was driven by Tathagata Datta, Director, Cyber Security at Praxis Business School.

Every year, on the eve of the foundation day, Praxis Business School organizes various competitions to encourage students to explore their skills and creativity. The winner of this year’s Poetry Writing Competition was Dolon Biswas and the winner of this year’s Video Making Competition was Shalini Shukla. Priya Singh secured the 1st position in the Painting Competition and Sayantika Bera secured the runners-up position.

The competitions were judged by veteran and respected personalities such as Smt Barsha Bagchi, a renowned painter and artist, and Mr Samantak Das, a renowned professor of comparative literature and an eminent social worker. Praxis students organized a cultural program with music and dancing performances.

The program proceeded with the announcement of the Director’s Merit List, introduced this year  — recognizing and encouraging the educational merit of students of PGDM, batch 2020-22. The students who topped the list were Sahin Banerjee, Shirsendu Bhattacharyya, Abhishek Chanda, Rupalli Patra, Minal Choudhury, Diptak Banerjee, and Supratim Das. The online ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
