Student activity
Community and club activities define an educational institute of this nature. The students of Praxis have participated in building the Praxis commune with vigor and enthusiasm.
Praxis has clubs in the functional areas of marketing, human resources, information technology, finance, strategy, operations and entrepreneurship as well as communities in the areas of quizzing, debating, sports and other extra-curricular activities with a view to providing platforms to the students to interact, experiment and discover…
Praxis gleams with the plethora of ideas and reserves of energy as it witnesses events like Entrepreneurship Week celebrated by E-Cell, Mock Stock Exchange organized by finance wizards of FinCop, Product Launch by Ambit -the marketing club or Adda where students lock their horns over debatable topics. The student community assimilates and internalizes the knowledge imparted in paper presentations, panel discussions, book reviews, workshops and lectures by industry experts that are organized by the clubs. Some of these ideas translate into initiatives like developing a quizzing site, running of a daily need store ‘Bosss…’, or publishing a book in the IT domain – ‘ Practical approach to Data Warehousing’).
The students excel while quizzing and debating at events like BT Acumen, TATA Crucibles, ET Quiz etc and bag various prizes in marketing, finance or strategy based competitions organized in fests of the top B-Schools in India. Such compelling performances are evidences of quality that Praxis is synonymous with.
Praxis also has events like Khoj and Rang Manch that provide the students with some fun-filled times of drama, dance, music etc and offer students the opportunity for self expression.
These moments of creativity, preparation, laughter, competition, spontaneity, learning, determination, chaos, and camaraderie are the moments that define ‘Life at Praxis.’
Social perspective
Concern for the environment and the society to which one belongs is an important part of education. Inculcating this in a student is the responsibility of any academic institute and Praxis is no exception.
In keeping with the philosophy of the institute, the students have formed a social activities club – Abhipraya – empowering people to empower others.
Organizing literacy drives and environmental awareness programs are some of the initiatives undertaken by Abhipraya. Working with NGOs give students an insight into the reality faced by the economically and the socially disadvantaged sections of the society.
The experiences offer learning that is beyond the curriculum and is essential for their holistic development. Nothing can give Praxis more satisfaction than the students giving back to the society more than what they got from it.
