Chairman’s Message

"Those people who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can apply to their work and to their lives will be the movers and shakers in our society for the indefinite future" – Brian Tracy.

Praxis is the process by which a theory, lesson, or skill is enacted, embodied, realized, applied, or put into practice. As the name suggests, this application of theory is the cornerstone of the education imparted at Praxis Business School.
However, there is a new challenge that must be embraced by industries, businesses and individuals – that of data and technology. The age of software, which has an enormous impact and provides an alternate, “Digital”’ approach to the way we live, is here to stay. Many of the technologies available to us are completely embedded into our lives and in the gadgets we use. It is this software and technology that generates data and brought about a profound and notable transformation in the speed of doing business and the way businesses take decisions, address growth and produce goods and services.
Many new businesses have been spawned – and the way the old businesses were structured and run has completely reformed. There are hundreds of start-ups creating wealth, opportunity for employment and professional and personal growth.
Management education has undergone many changes over more than 100 years of its existence. At its core is the appreciation of the use and deployment of resources, taking a calculated risk, appreciating the external and internal environment impacting the business and finally being able to guide and lead it to success. In this age of (embedded) software, technology has to be understood and appreciated as an additional resource to be ably deployed for the benefit of all stakeholders.
This is where Praxis has strived to direct its management education – creating digital leaders - to enable our students to, on the one hand, always be at the cutting edge of contemporary education and techniques in management, and on the other, exhibit sensitivity to cultural and ethical considerations. The learning ecosystem at Praxis encourages debate and discussion and celebrates innovation and entrepreneurial zeal.
The high academic standards and the ‘learning by doing’ pedagogy, driven by an excellent faculty team, have created a resource pipeline that has been endorsed emphatically by the industry. Praxis students get excellent opportunities across industries – banking & finance, consulting, logistics, technology, FMCGs etc. – and across functions like analytics, marketing and sales, finance, operations, human resource management etc.
Praxis alumni are thriving across the metropolitan cities of the country, showcasing their success and contributing significantly to various fields. Finally the picturesque Praxis campus enables not only a learning and contemplative environment but also a wonderful oasis in Kolkata, the city of joy with its rich culture and history.
I am therefore very excited to welcome all students to Praxis Business School, and thank our alumni, our faculty and all our staff for their continued commitment to Praxis.
