Student activity
Community and club activities define an educational institute of this nature, and the first few batches at Praxis have the unique opportunity to fashion the culture and fabric of ‘life at Praxis.’ The members of the core faculty at Praxis bring to the table their experiences as students of quality institutes and then as teachers but the onus of creating an identity remains with the student community.
The students of Praxis have participated in building the Praxis commune with vigor and enthusiasm. Emphasis is placed not only on the development of the key skills but also on extra curricular activities that contribute significantly to one’s development. They have formed clubs in the areas of marketing, human resources, information technology, finance, strategy, operations, entrepreneurship with a view to providing platforms to the students to interact, experiment and discover…
These clubs facilitate the development, both personal and professional, of all its members and prepare them to contribute meaningfully to any field they choose to be a part of. The clubs organize various paper presentations, panel discussions, debates, book reviews and aid active student-industry interface by virtue of workshops and lectures by industry experts. These activities provide the students with opportunities for self expression that help them emerge as well rounded individuals.
Social perspective
Concern for the environment and the society to which one belongs is an important part of education. Inculcating this in a student is the responsibility of any academic institute and Praxis is no exception.
In keeping with the philosophy of the institute, the students have formed a social activities club – Abhipraya – empowering people to empower others.
Organizing literacy drives and environmental awareness programs are some of the initiatives undertaken by Abhipraya. Working with NGOs give students an insight into the reality faced by the economically and the socially disadvantaged sections of the society.
The experiences offer learning that is beyond the curriculum and is essential for their holistic development. Nothing can give Praxis more satisfaction than the students giving back to the society more than what they got from it.
